DEC-LINGUISTICS

This group's focus is on structures and meaning, which are studied from a linguistic, logical, philosophical, and experimental perspective. The aim is to understand the rules governing linguistic forms and the rules by which speakers assign truth conditions to sentences (syntax/semantics interface, model-theoretic semantics); how these rules interact with reasoning (pragmatics); what are the proper conceptual and formal foundations to understand them (philosophy of language, logic); and how these rules are realized in the mind/brain (psycholinguistics and neurolinguistics).

The group seeks to integrate these diverse approaches within a unified research program, whose emphasis is decidedly interdisciplinary.

The publication output is listed under the individual lab headings. Interested students can find more information here.
